Description:
Con-vivere Carrara festival, the festival on interculturality, born in 2006 and held every second weekend of September in the historic center of Carrara.
The festival is promoted by the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Carrara and organized by its Società Strumentale Fondazione Progetti S.r.l. Under the patronage of the Tuscany region and the Province of Massa Carrara, it benefits from the active collaboration of a Committee made up of the Municipality of Carrara, the Chamber of Commerce, the Academy of Fine Arts and the Marmo Foundation.
Professor Remo Bodei has been the scientific director for 14 years (from 2006 to 2019).
Each edition addresses a theme, looking at the most current and crucial issues related to the coexistence between cultural, religious and political identities, whose problematic nature is symbolically indicated in the symbol by the hyphen that separates “with” from “living”.
It is the hyphen that makes the difference and thus places the emphasis on the problem of creating community and living in harmony. Talking about living together means inevitably confronting the thousand cultures that inhabit our individual lives and our communities (small or large), it means reflecting on our being in the world, looking to the past and the present to reconcile ourselves with reality and plan for the future.
The 2024 edition will have "change" as its theme and will see the scientific consultancy of Mauro Ceruti. The direction of the Festival is, as in previous years, by Emanuela Mazzi.
The program of this edition will consist of more than twenty meetings of words between conferences, dialogues and debates, six shows and over thirty collateral events between cooking workshops, children's space, exhibitions, meetings, themed walks to discover the territory, cooking proposals in the restaurants of the center.
Among the guests protagonists of this edition: Andrea Riccardi, Nathalie Tocci, Vito Mancuso, Daniela Lucangeli, Luigino Bruni, Luigi Zoja, Maurizio Ferraris, Chiara Saraceno, Laura Boella.
The program includes music by Leo Gassmann and the Modena City Ramblers; unmissable events of con-vivere 2024 also include meetings with Drusilla Foer and Arturo Brachetti.
