Description:

On the premises of Villa Argentina in via Vespucci 44 in Viareggio (Lu), Saturday 24 November 2018 at 5 pm, the Calendar painting exhibition will be inaugurated.
On this occasion, the 2019 Calendar of the Mercurio Arte Contemporanea gallery in Viareggio will be presented: an elegant table-top object, illustrated with images of some of the works on show, created by S. Marco Litotype of Badia di Cantignano (Lu) on a graphic project by Gianni Costa, director of the gallery.
The exhibition will show recent paintings by twelve of the most significant artists who have participated in the exhibitions promoted by the viareggina gallery, active since 1996: Simone Bortolotti, Annamaria Buonamici, Daniela Caciagli, Riccardo Corti, Beppe Francesconi, Marco Manzella, Guido Morelli, Gianluca Motto, Armando Orfeo, Lisandro Rota, Riccardo Ruberti and Valente Taddei.
The twelve authors - who have nourished curricula, with personal and collective shows all over Italy and abroad - although different in terms of style and aesthetic training, share a deep research spirit in contemporary figurative painting. The exhibition project envisages that each painter be given a separate room in the Villa.
The exhibition, curated by Gianni Costa, is organized in collaboration with the Province of Lucca, the Municipality of Viareggio, the Banca del Monte di Lucca Foundation and with the participation of the Superintendence of Archeology of Fine Arts and Landscape of Lucca and Massa Carrara.
It is open until 13 January 2019, from Tuesday to Sunday, with hours 10 - 13/15 - 18.30 (closed on December 25 and January 1).
