Description:
The artist exhibits a series of recent mixed techniques on canvas and on board, in which he elaborates abstract combinations of blacks, reds and blues with gold leaf: in these works, Bianchi's research turns to new visual suggestions, through experimentation that through the use of poor materials and recovery - newspapers, posters, stucco, plastics, fabrics - comes to new interpretations of the pictorial surface.
This is how the art critic Claudia Baldi observes the text of the brochure accompanying the exhibition: Bianchi's chromatic-spatial research leads to an extreme simplification in the pictorial syntax and in the geometric structure of the color fields, a formal rigor that underlies a narration where the emotions, the fantasies, the memories that emerge from the mind guided only by the subtle thread of memory, are abstracted within a defined space, but devoid of temporal connotations .
Marco Bianchi was born in Pescia (Pt) in 1944. He lives and works in Lido di Camaiore (Lu). Graduated at the Stagio Stagi State Art Institute of Pietrasanta (Lu), he has held solo and group exhibitions both in Italy and abroad since 1964, obtaining numerous prizes and awards. In 1974 it was reported in the Comanducci Yearbook.
The exhibition, organized by the Municipality of Pietrasanta, is open until December 9th 2018, from Tuesday to Sunday, from 4.00pm to 7.00pm.
