The Corchia Karstic: All you need to know
The M. Corchia is located in the southern part of the Apuane Alps within the boundary of the Stazzema administration. It is a carboniferous rock stretching towards NW-SE whose northeastern sides presents steep and grassy ridges. The Monte Corchia karstic system is the biggest found in Italy stretching along over 70 kilometers, with a maximum altitude gap of 1200 mt. Heavy rains and soluble rocks helped the development of karstic cavities containg suggestive environments rich in limestone shapes of various colours.
