Description:
On display a cycle of recent oil paintings on canvas and on canvas. In this series of works, Corti depicts elegiac maritime pines that stand out in a strongly evocative atmospheric space, in which the dynamic elegance of the forms is combined with the softness of the nuances.
It is a poetic painting with a marked symbolic value, meticulous but inclined to synthesis, in the context of an aesthetic investigation that is never an end in itself.
Riccardo Corti - born in Florence in 1952, but resident in Versilia for years - has a rich exhibit curriculum, with personal and collective shows throughout Italy. Some of his works are present in important public collections, including those of the GAMC of Viareggio (Lu), the Municipality of Seriate (Bg) and the Civic Center of Pontelagoscuro (Fe).
The exhibition, sponsored by the City of Viareggio, is included in the series of events The sea in the bottle, curated by the Association of Friends of the Maritime Museum of Viareggio.
It is organized in collaboration with the Mercurio Arte Contemporanea gallery in Viareggio and is accompanied by a catalog with a critical text by Marco Del Monte.
It will remain open until 9 September 2018,
with the following hours: August, 18 - 23 (closed on Mondays); September, 15.30 - 19.30 (closed Monday and Tuesday).
