Description:
On Friday 27 June 2025 at 6:30 pm, at Spazio 165 in via Vittorio Emanuele in Camaiore (Lu), Ipercosmi, a solo exhibition by the painter Valente Taddei, will be inaugurated. On display is a series of recent oil and ink paintings on paper applied to wood: synthetic works with a narrative edge, in which a tiny individual - the unmistakable protagonist of Taddei's works - finds himself in situations constantly balanced between irony and paradox.
The artist offers a metaphorical reading of the human condition, making light of, with subtle irony, the sense of emptiness and transience that man can feel in the face of his own destiny.
Born in Viareggio in 1964, Valente Taddei, a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Carrara, has an extensive exhibition curriculum, with numerous solo and group exhibitions both in Italy and abroad.
He has illustrated book covers (for the following publishers: Mauro Baroni Editore, Viareggio; Giulio Einaudi Editore, Turin; Alberto Gaffi Editore, Rome; Franco Angeli Edizioni, Milan) and music CDs, for magazines (Notizie Lavazza, Cfr:), for websites.
In 2008 he illustrated with 10 unpublished plates the essay Pandora, la prima donna by Jean-Pierre Vernant, published by Einaudi in the L’Arcipelago series. He created the logo and the official poster for the 2013 edition of EuropaCinema, an international film festival based in Viareggio, and the official poster for the 2014 Pietrasantino Carnival.
In 2020, the newspaper Il Tirreno commissioned him to create the Viareggio Carnival Poster dedicated to the newspaper’s readers. The exhibition is organized by the Mercurio Arte Contemporanea gallery in Viareggio in collaboration with the Municipality of Camaiore.
It is accompanied by a catalogue with an introductory text by Ernesto Franco.
It will remain open until Sunday 20 July,
every day from 9:00 pm to 11:30 pm.
