Tuesday 13 August 2024 at 9:00 pm,
at the Galleria Europa on the Europa 41 seafront in Lido di Camaiore (LU),
“Oltremare” opens, a solo exhibition by the painter Armando Orfeo.
On display is a series of recent oil and acrylic paintings on canvas. The protagonist of his works is the character, created by him, of ‘Signor Cozza’, a sort of stereotype of the average bourgeois: immersed in singular marine settings, he seems perpetually torn between routine and flights of fancy. Armando Orfeo - born in Marina di Grosseto (GR) in 1964 - boasts a rich exhibition curriculum, with numerous solo and group exhibitions in Italy and abroad.
In the 1980s he collaborated with the comic book magazines ‘Tempi aggiuntive’ and ‘Frigidaire’, publishing a series of stories with characters of his own invention. As an advertising illustrator, he has been working since 2000 with Artemidatre in Milan, for which he has created image projects commissioned by important Italian and foreign companies, including: FIAT Engineering, Finanza & Futuro, LifeScan, Perfetti, Sanofy-Aventis, Sperlari, Sun Microsystems, Tre Marie, Vaillant.
The exhibition, organized by the Mercurio Arte Contemporanea gallery in Viareggio in collaboration with the Municipality of Camaiore, is accompanied by a catalog with a critical text by Sandra Maria Dami.
It will remain open until Sunday 1 September 2024,
every day from 9:00 pm to 11:30 pm.
