Description:
Following its success in Livorno, the monumental phygital sculpture "The Heart of the Earth – Phy Version" by Cesare Catania arrives in Versilia, within the renowned Versiliana Park, a symbol of Tuscan culture.
The work will be on display from July 31st to August 30th, 2025, officially launching the park's summer art season.
The opening day, scheduled for Thursday, July 31st, will feature an exclusive meeting with the artist (11:00 am – 12:30 pm), during which the public will be able to attend the official presentation of the work, participate in an open dialogue with the artist, and receive a free copy of the signed catalog if booked in advance on the event's official website.
The meeting will be held in the presence of guests from the worlds of art, poetry, and corporate culture, in a context that celebrates art as a common and accessible good.
The work "The Heart of the Earth" is a sculpture over four meters tall, made entirely of steel and designed to engage with the natural environment and the public. Through the use of augmented reality, visitors are invited to enjoy a unique immersive experience: simply frame the work with a smartphone to access visual and poetic digital content, seamlessly integrated with the sculpture's physical form.
With this installation, Cesare Catania continues his Progetto dell'Abbraccio (Embrace Project), a socio-cultural artistic project conceived by the artist in 2015 and subsequently brought to life starting in 2022, which over the years has become a benchmark for contemporary public art.
The project promotes values of inclusion, shared beauty, and cultural accessibility.
It is no coincidence that Catania was named "Unique Ambassador to the World" for International Hug Day in 2023.
The event is sponsored by the Tuscany Region and is organised with the support of the Galleria Fidanda, specialising in contemporary art and public art, and of the SCC – Società Costruzioni Capannoni, technical partner in the realisation of the work.
