the "18th International Guitar Festival 2019"
organized by the Municipal School of Music of Massa managed by the Musical Association of Massa, by the Department of Culture of the Municipality of Massa with the contribution of the Cassa di Risparmio di Carrara Foundation, it closes with the concert of the Spanish guitarist Josep Manzano.
After the successes recorded in the previous evenings with top-level musicians, accompanied by performances by young talents of the guitar, which gave the large audience present moments of high emotional involvement will be the turn of the Spanish guitarist Josep Manzano.
The concert will be opened by the young guitarist Giacomo Reho from Massa.
Josep Manzano will present a tour of classical and popular songs from the last two centuries, from the dances in vogue in nineteenth-century romanticism, such as waltzes or polkas, to pop music themes, by authors such as Carlos Santana or Eric Clapton passing through jazz with Joplin and Reinhardt and Latin music.
His repertoire includes pieces by composers with renowned guitar works such as Tárrega, Ferrer, De Falla. At the concert, Manzano presents some of the songs he has recorded for his latest album "Recital intimo", the fourth of his solo discography.
Josep is from Girona with a degree in guitar from the "Liceum". He has made numerous concerts and recordings for radio and television, both as a soloist and as part of chamber music formations. He has been invited to participate in numerous festivals, both as a concert performer, as a teacher or as a member of the jury of international competitions, both in our country and in Europe, America and Asia. He is a guitar teacher at the EMG and founder of the Girona-Costa Brava Guitar Festival.
The concert will take place at 9.15pm
with free admission
at the room of Villa Rinchiostra in Via Mura della Rinchiostra Nord, 7, in Massa
