inauguration of the Ensemble painting exhibition, organized by the Polis Sillico Association in collaboration with the Mercurio Arte Contemporanea gallery in Viareggio.
On show recent paintings by Daniela Caciagli, Riccardo Corti, Guido Morelli and Valente Taddei: the four authors - three Tuscan and one Ligurian - boast of varied curricula, with personal and collective shows throughout Italy and abroad: even if different from each other and aesthetic training, they are united by a deep research spirit in contemporary figurative painting, in addition to being similar for the compositional rigor and for the formal accuracy that make the matching of the respective works harmonious in a common exhibition project.
In the oil and acrylic paintings by Daniela Caciagli (Bibbona, 1962), Pop and Surrealist references are combined with originality. The artist tries to shape reality and make it imagine in continuous change, creating free fantastic associations of fragments of everyday life, in which the spatio-temporal references appear indefinite.
In refined paintings, in which the dynamic elegance of forms is combined with the delicacy of the nuances, Riccardo Corti (Florence, 1952) proposes his favorite subjects: slender maritime pines, polychrome citrus in section, sensual watermelons and sticks suspended in the void. Corti oils, with a marked symbolic value, create a textual game of considerable stylistic value, in the context of a synthesis painting, aimed at investigating the sensible with depth and lyricism.
Guido Morelli (La Spezia, 1967) is the author of oils with a maternal imprint, in which are depicted synthetic natural landscapes: these are not reproductions of real places, but compositions in which what counts is the search for a specific structure, founded on a game of responses and on a balance of spaces. Morelli focuses on a psychological language of the painting, moving away from the descriptive aspects and aiming at a pure fusion of chromatism and brightness.
Valente Taddei (Viareggio, 1964) painstakingly creates meticulous oil and ink paintings with a narrative and minimalist cut, in which a tiny, daring but undecided individual finds himself in situations constantly poised between irony and paradox. The backgrounds, mostly monochromes, full of nuances, create a setting in which the boundaries of time and space are dispersed, transforming the character of Taddei into a sort of icon of human fragility, suspended between dream and unconscious.
The exhibition, sponsored by the Municipality of Pieve Fosciana, is accompanied by a catalog with an introduction by Gianni Costa.
