The Marguttiana Show

Given its tradition and artistic quality, the Marguttiana, is now an irreplaceable rendez-vous of the summer in Massa, and more specifically of Ronchi. In fact, the painters of the Marguttiana expose their own pieces and paint in the street, right in front of the central square of the famous seaside resort where many successful events have already taken place, among Italian and foreign tourists who curiously observe them. Even art connoisseurs and critics stop at Ronchi to observe the young promising artists and confirmed painters.
The Marguttiana of Ronchi was born in 1995 as an idea of Dino Bianchi and is organised by Ricci Marco, in collaboration with the Apuan Painters Association. Every evening during the summertime, from 8.30pm to 11.30pm, all the painters who wish to participate to the event can expose their pieces for free (the painters can come from anywhere in the world). On top of painters, other types of artists, creators of really special pieces/ objects, can also expose at Ronchi; hand-crafted frames, liberty-style folding-screens in decorated glass, pieces of furniture and decorative items, candy boxes, key rings, animals in papier-mâché and much else still.
The international painting contest is also very special: artists from everywhere in the world can participate; the commission which selects the works of art and awards prizes to the winners is in fact composed of the visitors of the show, who will have to indicate their favourite painting after the two evenings. Some artists who take part to the Marguttiana show are: Alberti Antonio, Angeloni Vaire, Bianchi Dino, Cardarelli Nanda, Caribotti Manola, Della Maggesa Luciana, Ferrari Massimo, Giumetti Walter, Liri Luciana, Lunardi Silvio, Mannari Maria, Olivo Paolo, Pieretti Luigi, Pucci Lorenzo, Sparavelli Giovanni, Verona Aldo; Objects: Cucurnia Danila, Giumetti Daniela, Paolini Monica.
